Life can throw curve balls you would never expect. Decisions you thought you would never have to make. Others have a choice too, and you can’t make them choose what you need them to. Storms will rage. You will feel like your life is upside down. But God. My favorite two words. But God. He has to be the foundation you stand on. You may not feel like opening your bible or praising or worshipping, but He is the only thing that can help you navigate through the raging storm. In the midst of the beginning of my storm, a friend left a note on my car. She, to my knowledge, had absolutely no idea what storm was building in my life, but she obeyed her Lord and jotted down a verse and left it on my car. I will forever be grateful for her obedience.
Isaiah 43:2 says “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.”
I felt like I was drowning. But God. He heard my cries. He comforted me when I thought I was alone. We all know that he will not forsake us, but we often forget.
So how do you function in your day to day life when the winds and rain are consuming your vision?
Take one day at a time.
Put one foot in front of the other.
Make lists of the things that need to get done.
Confide in someone you trust and has a heart for God.
Turn to God everyday.
Be grateful for the blessings you do have.
You will get through this. When Jesus died for you, He won the the war.
When you feel like you are drowning and you can’t breath…remember, but God.
